How can i become this girls boyfriend instead of just her friend?

I'm one of those guys who has the problem where they can be really good friends with a girl, but they can rarely ever cross that boundary where they become more than friends. There is this new girl that i really like which my friends have set up with me to go to prom. Now we don't really know each other that well so i'm cautios not to move too far into the friend zone. She's not really TOO experienced in the dating game either so there might be a chance for us to become more than friends. What should I do differently as we get to know each other?How can i become this girls boyfriend instead of just her friend?
Im only 13 and i think u should just talk with her! sit with her at lunch and get to know her. Talk about her favorite things as well as yours. That way she learns about you and vise versa. Be kind and show her all ur best qualities. Talk about past experiences and future expectations. You can even go to the mall with her, or a coffee shop. Ask about her family and tell her that your always there for her when she needs help. These are all of the things that i would love for a guy to do for me. FIRST get to know her well. if things are meant to be, then naturally you will become more than friends. dont try too hard though, just let it happen.
